Ocean Beach at Sloat

The sun is setting over calm water
A dog chases a ball into water pools
Surfers are catching their last ride before dark
Teenagers are frolicing in slow moving waves
The sun is at the horizon
One can looking into it's yellow eye
At this hour and see infinity
With mutted protective rays all around
The sky is a pale orange
I hear the calm humming of the ocean
And breathe in the fresh salt air
Ah, yes, so full my lungs happy with oxygen
The yellow ball sinks to a strip
Tiny clouds sparkle like gems above
A black winged bird crosses through
The ocean now silvery blue/grey hums and hums
Happy dogs sniff by and are released to run
They weave down the rocks and frolic wildly on the sand
They chase a third dog barking happily
Lovers kiss at the point of the hill
A muscluar surfer removes his wetsuit
A mother strolls by with her baby
Wet children are wrapped in towels
One lonely surfer meditates on his board far out
Three brave swimmer splash each other
Pink bottomed clouds appears
They look like a blue-eyed dolphin with wings
I must do my stretches and omms

  1. I wrote this several days ago and was just able to get it to post today. My computer has been crashing unexpectedly with no warning. It is the wiring. I have been off my computer for almost a week and suddenly it started working today.

  2. I have been checking your blog and this still did not post as a new entry on my blog list, but it did show the headline as having posted 4 days ago! Nice poem. I really liked it. Say did you know you have a spelling space on your new post form? I noted muted spelled as mutted. I have noted it there. I think that you select all and do it. I had quite a time figuring out how to use the bold. I still can't remember what you do. Drat that wiring. That is a bummer. Don't know if the boys have gotten their computers set up to Gary's yet. But Dan has moved in. Well, soon you and Ann will be running neck and neck in the most entries in poetry form posted. I gave Ann one of my Kreativ Blogger awards because of her creativity and consistency in getting entries posted once she began. But you and LaRena are running close behind with your blogs. Now Raymond has posted a hair raising Austin City Limits entry. I had to give him a Kreativ blog award for sheer nerve and how far away he will go to create! It was fun getting acquainted with Baby. Can't you blog at Rissy's if your computer is not working? I used to blog down to Doc's but found out his big long monitor screen threw off my blog because my monitor screen is so small. My videos posted down to Doc's would cause the side features to fall all the way to the bottom. The width of the videos was what was doing it.

  3. I so enjoyed your poem. Keep writing! It gives the feel of the ocean in many ways.
It's good to live by the ocean and see the sun set.

  4. That is a lovely poem and you bring the scene alive for us in the Desert. I can almost smell the ocean and hear the seagulls squawk. Thanks for sharing SF with us.

  5. Your poetry is the only poetry I read all the way through, each time one comes my way... I start reading and I can't stop... great poem, and, Nemo is exquisite. You would love Austin, cowboys, artists, and dogs. I understand the dog people now...
